We are thrilled to highlight our retail partner, Rhonda Hallstrom, founder and owner of Hallstrom Home. Hallstrom Home is a fellow PNW retailer, located in Ridgefield, Washington. Hallstrom Home is more than just a store. It’s a family-run, heart-led business. We had the opportunity to ask Rhonda a series of questions to learn more about Hallstrom Home and Rhonda.
Tell us about your store. What inspired you to create it?
Hallstrom Home was born out of a love for home, beauty, and meaningful connection. What started as a creative outlet has grown into a destination for timeless home decor with a touch of whimsy and elegance. Living on a farm with seven kids, I’ve always believed in mixing the real, the beautiful, and the practical—and that’s exactly what I bring into the store.
Talk to us about your product curation.
How do you decide which brands to offer?
I choose products that reflect my personal style and that I would genuinely use in my own home. Quality and design and trends are everything—we love pieces that feel special but still approachable. I’m drawn to brands that offer great textures, a soft color palette, and a sense of everyday luxury.
What is your favorite or “must-have” L’AVANT product and why?
The L’AVANT High Performing Dish Soap is hands down my favorite. It’s elegant, effective, and looks beautiful next to the sink—no need to hide it in a cabinet. It turns a daily chore into a small moment of beauty, and that’s what we’re all about at Hallstrom Home.
What is your second favorite product/brand that you carry and why?
MacKenzie-Childs is a close favorite in our store. The whimsical, bold designs mixed with classic elegance bring so much personality to a space. Our customers love that every piece feels like a statement—whether it’s a colander, a teapot, or a simple dish towel. It’s functional art, and it makes everyday moments feel just a little more magical.
What advice or ideas would you like to sharewith other independent businesses?
Stay true to your style and your values. Your authenticity is what sets you apart. Also—connect with your customers like they’re friends. Social media is a great tool, but genuine, face-to-face interaction inside the shop is where the magic happens.
What are you most grateful for this year?
I’m most grateful for the community that has supported Hallstrom Home—from our loyal customers to our amazing team. It’s been a year of growth, learning, and a whole lot of laughter on top of a lot of pain that happens in this life. I feel incredibly lucky to do what I love every day.
